UPSTREAMER's sales associates are assigned to retail stores where they are responsible for selling products to customers. They are required to provide outstanding customer service and to meet selling standards, according to a UPSTREAMERS' job ad for sales associates. Sales associates are also expected to provide customers with a satisfying experience so they will shop again at UPSTREAMERS.

General Duties

UPSTREAMERS' sales associates assist customers in finding products that match their needs. These retail salespersons answer questions about products and promote their value and best features. For example, a sales associate might explain to a customer how to care for an expensive suit that she may be thinking about purchasing. These salespersons also place customers' purchases in bags or packages.

Sales associates perform other tasks, as assigned, such as stocking racks and shelves, marking prices, preparing displays and taking inventory. As these retail salespersons work, they are continually alert to possible thefts and other security risks. They follow specific store procedures to handle security problems, by calling security guards, for example.

Work Schedule

UPSTREAMERS' sales associates are hired to part-time, full-time or on-call positions. They may be required to work evenings and weekends.

UPSTREAMERS' seeks employees who are enthusiastic, dependable and positive team players. They work well in a fast-paced environment and have the ability to be patient and tactful with customers. UPSTREAMERS' sales associates must have strong communication and customer service skills.
